GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATIONS

The firm provides clients with advice and representation before state and federal agencies which are concerned with employment matters and agencies which are involved in professional licensure.

Examples of employment matters successfully handled in favor of the firm's clients include Wage-Hour investigations, EEOC charges, unemployment compensation appeals and unfair labor practice charges. The firm has helped clients before the Department of Labor, United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Public Employee Relations Board and Federal Office of Contracts Compliance Programs, among others. A government investigation is most successfully defended when the firm appears early and ensures that the investigation is authorized by law and conducted in accordance with procedures that protect our clients. The firm handles these matters before the various government agencies before which they are brought up through the defense of any such claims at the trial and appellate levels of the state and federal court system.

This firm represents teachers in investigations of teacher conduct and competency at the District and State level, including the Educational Practices Commission. Teachers who are being questioned by their supervisors have important rights although they are often not told of them. Any statement in such an investigation can be used to revoke the teacher's certificate.

The firm represents professionals in the medical and healing arts, such as doctors of medicine and osteopathy, physician's assistants, nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, occupational therapists, nurse anesthetists, etc., in license applications, license investigations and administrative hearings. This representation includes agency investigations and adjudicatory processes such as discipline, suspension and license revocation. Any professional in danger of a disciplinary action which could destroy a career should seek assistance early by contacting the firm.
