The law is very clear in terms of the rights it affords pregnant women. Employers are required to provide pregnancy leave and FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) leave. In addition to leaves, employers must make other accommodations for pregnant women and women returning from pregnancy leave. If an employer fails to provide these accommodations, or retaliates against the woman for using them, it is pregnancy discrimination. It is illegal.

If you have been discriminated against for your pregnancy, denied leave—or retaliated against for being pregnant— protect your rights and take action.
