ABOUT AFRICA F. ALTIDOR, ATTORNEY
Africa Altidor was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida in a large loving family of ten siblings. She later relocated to Tampa, Florida to attend the University of South Florida. Africa went on to attend Florida A&M University College of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude and thirteenth in her class. After graduating law school, Africa worked as an Assistant Public Defender at the Public Defender’s Office in Tampa, representing criminal clients in hundreds of cases. From there, Africa worked as an Assistant Regional Counsel for the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, 2nd DCA. In this role, in addition to representing criminal clients, Africa also represented hundreds of parents in Dependency and Termination of Parental Rights cases.
Africa’s representation of her clients earned her the award of Dependency Attorney of the Year within that agency. Africa later went on to become a Senior Staff Attorney at Disability Rights Florida, which is a non-profit organization committed to providing protection and advocacy for people with disabilities. Africa has represented clients in jury trials, bench trials, and administrative hearings for the vast majority of her legal career. Africa’s legal career has been spent being of service to her clients and providing them with high-quality representation. As an attorney at Wenzel Fenton Cabassa, she is truly passionate about helping clients with employment and labor disputes.
In her free time, Africa enjoys crafting and reading murder mystery novels. Africa also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and trying out new restaurants around town.
